Who Do You Say You Are?

Who Do You Say You Are?

Who do you call yourself? Do you know your words have power? Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.“ Do you realize your words are so weighty that they have the power to bring life or release death? How many times have you spoke negatively over your body, your life, your marriage, your health, your situation, or your future?

So who do you call yourself?

  • Blessed or cursed?
  • Fruitful or barren?
  • Fertile or infertile?
  • Healed or sick?
  • Whole or broken?
  • Healthy or unhealthy?
  • Chosen or abandoned?
  • Unashamed or shamed?
  • Forgiven or a sinner?
  • Beautiful or ugly?
  • Loved or unwanted?
  • Victorious or a failure?

You might not feel whole or fruitful or chosen or any of these positive things listed above. But it’s not about your feelings right? Instead it’s about who God says you are and according to him you are his beautiful and amazing creation. Whenever your speech doesn’t line up with the Word of God you are selling yourself short of the abundant life that he has for you. Instead, speak all the promises over your life and situation.

If you aren’t sure about your identity then spend time learning who you are in Christ. Pay attention to the words (and thoughts) that come out of your mouth and make sure every word is pleasing to the Lord and lines up with his Word. Whatever you do, choose to speak life over every situation and soon you will see your words manifest into blessings in all areas of your life.
