The Suddenly’s

The Suddenly’s

What are you waiting on? Are you asking God to do something? Like me, you might have been waiting for a long time and not received an answer, but do you realize that God works in the suddenly’s? Meaning at any point your whole circumstance can change. Your prayer can be answered. Your wait can be over. Your miracle can come. In an instant God can change everything for you.

Scripture has example after example of God working in the suddenly’s and in most of the examples that I read, the suddenly was preceded by prayer. In Acts 16, Paul was in prison, but suddenly God loosed Paul’s chains in an instant. Paul received his breakthrough and was’t bound anymore to the walls of his prison anymore, as stated in Acts 16:26 which says, “Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.”

But that isn’t the only example. What about Acts 2:2-3 when suddenly a sound came from heaven and the people were filled with the Holy Spirit or Acts 22:6 when Paul suddenly heard a verse from heaven? Or how about Isaiah 9:1 which says, “But suddenly there will be no more gloom for the land that suffered.”  In an instant all the gloom was removed. God can take your depression, sadness, anxiety, sorrow, misery, and despair away just like that. He can say one word and change your whole circumstances.

You know what I love about the word suddenly? It not only means quickly, but it also means unexpected. God might not answer how or when you expect him too, but he will answer you. What suddenly are you asking the Lord to do? What is preventing you from believing that he does work in the suddenly’s? Believe that at any moment God can change your circumstances around by bringing a sudden answer to your prayers!
