I was a sinner

I was a sinner

I was a sinner.  And still, I mess up every day. I lose my temper. I become impatient. I say things I shouldn’t. I become jealous. I get bitter. I’m quick to speak. I’m slow to listen. I disrespect people. The list goes on and on.

I was a sinner.

But….

I am forgiven.

I am saved by grace. Even though I mess up all the time, I am forgiven. I’m not defined by past or current sin (which is why I don’t say ‘I am a sinner’ – our words have power and I don’t want to declare that over myself), but defined by my salvation and Jesus living within me. Because the Lord sent his son to die for me, I am cleansed, healed, delivered, and forgiven!

Some of the people who read this blog know me personally, but not all do. So, I’m telling you this so you know I’m just your average person. I’m not perfect. Not even close. I hope as I type and you read I don’t put on some facade that I’m perfect. God called me to start a blog back in April 2012. I laughed. I don’t write. I sit at a desk and work in excel all day. I like math. Then, He impressed it on my heart to start a group and encourage woman in person and through the internet. So, here I am blogging and leading an infertility group. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t struggle. That doesn’t mean I’m perfect. It just means He is using me, a broken person, to minister to others. Despite how much you have messed up He has a call on your life. Are you letting Him use you to advance the kingdom?

“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.” Ephesians 2:8
