We have had rain since yesterday morning (and I don’t think it is supposed to stop anytime soon). I have mentioned this before, but I love the prophetic significance of rain. A downpour of babies is something we have been believing for our Moms in the Making group.
I love reading the Psalms and Psalm 84:6 really stood out to me on this same topic, “Even when their path winds through the dark valley of tears, They dig deep to find a pleasant pool where others find only pain. He gives to them a brook of blessing, Filled from the rain of an outpouring.”
The valley or “path” reference in this verse is the Valley of Baca. Baca means “weeping”. So although the people in this Psalm wept their way through the valley which was desolate and barren, they didn’t stay there. In the NIV version it says they “passed through”. And after leaving, they entered a place of springs and pools.
You too might be facing trials, but they are not going to last forever. Often before God blesses His children, He takes them through barren valleys. But, when you choose to “dig deep” while facing barrenness (whether physically like me or spiritually, mentally, financially, etc), He will remove you from your valley and bring you a “brook of blessing”. He always has an outpour of blessings waiting for you.
As verse 7 says, you will grow “stronger and stronger with ever step forward.” I hope that encourages you today. God intends to make you strong and He has a large blessing waiting for you on the other side of your trial. Don’t give up now!
