Psalm 43 – Breakthrough – #103

Psalm 43 – Breakthrough – #103

Today I’m sharing my 103rd verse, Psalm 43:5. The Psalmist in this Psalm goes from a state of depression to a proclamation of praise. The Passion translation of Psalm 43:5 says, “Then I will say to my soul, don’t be discouraged, don’t be disturbed, For I fully expect my Savior-God to break through for me. Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again. Yes, living before his face is my saving grace.”

In the 5th verse, the psalmist didn’t give up, but he challenged what he was feeling. “Why are you downcast, O my soul?”, he asked. Can you relate to the psalmist? Have you been wondering why you are discouraged and why your heart is so sad? Instead of dwelling in it, speak to your soul and command all fear, discouragement, and disturbance to be gone. Speak the life and promises of God over your circumstances. When you do you will be filled with hope and encouragement.

The psalmist’s circumstances hadn’t changed, but throughout the Psalm his attitude had. Instead of putting his hope in his circumstances, he put his hope in God. He fully expected that the Lord would break through for Him, which would lead him to praise God. Do you have that same expectancy? Do you believe and know that God will break through for you?

Put your hope in God and continue to praise Him. Know that He is the God of abundance and He wants to answer your prayers and see break through happen in every area of your life!
