Moms In the Making

Remember the Infertility Support Group I started? Well time has flown by and we just finished our last meeting of our summer study.

Why is the title of this post, ‘Moms In the Making?’ The Lord has been doing a lot of things in my life lately, but one of them is teaching me only to speak life and truth over our bodies and our current situation. I no longer say I am infertile, but I am completely fertile. Colby and I have been claiming this truth over our situation and our bodies daily. When I shared this with the group, one of the sweet girls came back the following week, saying that we would no longer be called an ‘Infertility Support Group’, but ‘Moms in the Making’. I loved it! I love her faith and I 100% agree. We are all Mom’s in the Making and the Lord is just prepping us for that perfect time.

The group was amazing. There were a total of 7 girls. All from different backgrounds and all different stories. Some in their 20’s. Some in their 40’s. Some with both male and female factor. Those who have gotten a positive pregnancy test and those who haven’t. All with a different story, but we came together as one. We all understood the desire and the difficulty while waiting. I think most, if not all, of the girls would join me in saying it was such a blessing for all of us. We spent a lot of good time in prayer, discussion over our Pregnant with Hope book, and shared praises and prayer requests.

The biggest blessing was both last week and last night, when we got our first and second (miracle) pregnancy announcements from two of the girls. Both were beautiful testimonies and I still get chills when I think about it. God was, and still is, doing big things with these girls and this group.
After being reminded throughout the study that it’s not just us who suffer, but our husbands who desire to be dad’s too, we decided we should all get together so everyone could meet. All the ladies and the husbands had a lunch this past weekend. It was a blessing to get us all in the same room. And, it gave us an opportunity to discuss other things besides pregnancy tests, blood results, etc. We finally just ‘got to know each other’. It was great to meet all the husbands who we have been praying for too.

We aren’t sure what the future looks like, but for those who are still interested, we are going to take a break for the month of August, and then meet back up in the fall as well as open up the group to more girls. The husbands might start meeting too.

I think how good God has been to Colby and me while He has us in this trial. And after the conclusion of this summer study, I realize now that one of the biggest blessings of being on this journey is the sweet friendships that have been formed with these ladies. I am forever grateful.
