Memory Monday – Week 73

Memory Monday – Week 73

Happy December! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I was looking forward to sharing a verse again as it seems like it’s been awhile!

Today I’m sharing Hebrews 6:12, “We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.”

It seems so easy to become lazy while we are waiting for God’s promises, especially when we are coming up on 3 years of waiting. It’s easy to want to stop hoping, believing, and praying. It’s easy to try and get rid of the desire to become a mom. It’s easy to grow weary and become reactive instead of proactive. But, this verse tells us not to do any of that!

Hebrews 6:12 tells us to imitate those who by faith and patience inherit what was promised. Immediately, Abraham and Sarah pop into my mind. In fact, the following verses talk about Abraham and Hebrews 6:15 says, “And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.” They waited years and years, but they received what was promised to them. The writer of this encourages us to press on just like Abraham did. We should wait like Abraham did: patiently and confidently.

To be honest, I’m writing this post selfishly for myself, because I feel like I have become lazy in so many ways. I need this reminder just as much as anyone else does. I want to remain steadfast in pursuing Christ and the promises He has waiting for us, because I know that in due time we will reap our harvest. Don’t let what has discouraged you make you lazy while you are waiting to receive your promise. Remain faithful and hopeful and you too will reap the harvest He has for you.
