Memory Monday – Week 67

Memory Monday – Week 67

Psalm 25:3 says, “No one who waits on you will be put to shame.” When we think of shame in a biblical perspective it is defined as being let down or disappointed. This definition of shame has nothing to do with the worldly definition which is to be embarrassed. Isn’t this such a beautiful verse? No one who waits on Him will ever be disappointed! It reminds me of Romans 5:5 – “Hope in Him will never disappoint.”

I often talk about waiting actively. This verse doesn’t mean we can just sit back, relax, and expect not to be disappointed. But, we should wait actively with confidence and expectation. To wait on the Lord is to put 100% of your confidence in Him – not in the circumstances around you.

I love that in the verses preceding and following Psalm 25:3, David offers His prayers to God, puts His trust in God, and asks God to teach him His ways. Doesn’t that set us up for waiting with wisdom and hope? Put your trust in Him and ask God to guide you along your path – I promise you will not be disappointed in your wait.
