Memory Monday – Week 59

Memory Monday – Week 59

It’s amazing to me how many verses there are on waiting on the Lord, and waiting with expectantly, yet we live in a culture where we get frustrated when we have to wait an extra 30 minutes when our flight is delayed or an extra two minutes when the traffic light turns red. It’s obvious that the topic of waiting is something I am passionate about as many of my posts are on this topic. Not waiting while whining and grumbling, but waiting joyfully and expectantly.

Psalm 130:5 is short and sweet. I wait for the Lord, I expectantly wait, and in His word do I hope. We are called to wait on the Lord with expectancy. We are to put our hope in His word. Not in the doctors report, a family members opinion, what google says, but God – and God alone. The truth is when we put our hope in anything but Jesus, we will be disappointed, but hope in Him will never disappoint. Waiting doesn’t have to be miserable, it can be filled with joy and peace if we allow it. Don’t let your wait ruin you, but instead let it build you up – make the most of each day and put your hope in the one person who knows whats best for you, Jesus.
