Memory Monday – Week 34

Memory Monday – Week 34

The story of Abraham and Sarah brings so much hope. God told Abraham that he would be a father of children (Genesis 17:16). Romans 4:21 tells us that Abraham never doubted that God would fulfill His promise. His faith did not waver. He had faith because he was fully convinced of God’s ability to perform what He had promised. Abraham often failed, he made mistakes, he sinned, but he consistently trusted God.  It’s so encouraging to read about His journey. Despite all the years He waited, He continued to press on and remain steadfast.

Because of the wait and the journey, Abraham’s faith and character were strengthened. He was an example of someone who put faith into action. When we walk by faith, we too can grow, not only in our spiritual walk, but all aspects of our life.

Abraham leads us in an incredible example to praise God now, for what He is going to do later. I encourage you to thank God for what He has done, what He is doing, but also what He is going to do. When we praise Him in advance, we create an environment for God to occupy His presence and we shut out the enemy so there is no room for him to reside.

What if Abraham only looked at his circumstances? The fact that even though He was promised a baby, there were no signs a baby was on the way. He would have given up so quickly. Instead, he looked to God. He obeyed and waited and waited and waited. And, just as God ALWAYS does, His promise was fulfilled. His son, Isaac, was born.

What is your focus on? Is it on the natural circumstances or is it on God, the author of the supernatural?

Are you fully convinced that God can do a miracle for whatever you are praying for? Maybe it’s for a baby, maybe it’s healing, maybe it’s finances, or a restored relationship. Don’t minimize how BIG our God is. If you don’t believe He can do a miracle in your story, then you are missing out on the big God that we serve. Once you truly realize how big He is, just like Abraham, you will be captivated and fully convinced that not only He is able, but that He will.
