I am loving all of Romans right now. Romans 12:12 is short, but packs a big punch. Sometimes I feel I am repetitive in the things I share on here; the topics, the verses and the sermons. But, continuing to dig into scripture, even if it’s the constant topic of waiting, is the only way to keep me moving forward in my faith and staying positive. It helps me remain steadfast in His love and plans for me. The verse this week is again on hope, patience and prayer.
Hope. This verse tells us that we don’t rejoice in our circumstances, but we rejoice in hope. We rejoice in the fact that He is our anchor. We rejoice in the hope that we are waiting expectantly for the promises God has given us. While at a Third Day concert last night, the speaker talked about Hope (of course he did, because the Lord is putting that word in front of me at all times) and his acronym was Holding On with Patient Expectation. I love this!
Patience. When we enter a trial, we must continue to be patient. Trials do not give us a reason to throw our hands up in the air. Trials are not an excuse to give up our hope and faith. Instead they give us a chance to activate our faith. Remember we are called to wait actively. The Lord has purpose in each trial and we should activate our faith to make the most of each day we encounter while we wait.
Prayer. Keep praying. Don’t stop. Don’t know what to pray? Praise! If you are at a time in your life where you are at a loss for words, just give Him praise for what He has done for you. Just say His name. There is so much power in ‘Jesus’.
