Memory Monday – Week 14

Memory Monday – Week 14

I mentioned last week that there are so many scriptures that I have been excited about and want to share. Most of them are regarding what scripture says regarding barrenness and healing. Related to scriptures of healing, I was reminded of a post I did last year about all the people who were healed in the book of Matthew.

The verse I chose for this week is from the book of Acts. After a crippled man was healed at the beginning of Acts 3, Peter spoke to onlookers to share about Jesus.

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see. Acts 3:16

Healing is not going to “just happen”. Healing is going to happen when we have complete faith. Not in the healing or the outcome of the healing (conceiving), but faith in Jesus. Our faith should not be in a thing, but in a person.

In this verse, Peter understood the power of Jesus’ healing. The sections of verse 16 below show that it wasn’t the apostles or Peter who did the healing, it was through faith in Jesus Christ.

  • “By faith in the name of Jesus“
  • “It is Jesus’ name”
  • “The faith that comes through him“

We are trusting the Lord for that same healing. We have complete faith that the same God who healed the crippled man is the same God who will heal us too. We are holding on to the truth that nothing is impossible with God.

Hebrews 11:6 – And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Matthew 21: 21 – And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.
