Memory Monday – Week 10

Memory Monday – Week 10

I have mentioned a few times lately that I have felt attacked by Satan. A friend reminded me of this verse. The context of this verse is during a time when Paul was suffering great opposition as a leader. He recognized that through the Holy Spirit, he was able to overcome his fears of all the negativity that was inflicted upon him by what others did or said. I just have to think to myself that that if Paul could recognize that he was not going to let all the persecution he endured bring him down and fear the things in His future, then neither should we.

We all face fears, it can be small spaces, flying, public speaking, or fear of never becoming a mother. But, we need to recognize none of these fears are from the Lord. He does not give us a spirit of fear.

God has given us a spirit of power. We can safely do His work, share the gospel, proclaim His word, and go about our day knowing we are safe with Him and that enables us with His power.

God has given us a spirit of love. He enables us to love and serve others, even those pesky co-workers, or rude doctors. He enables us with the same love that he loves us with.

God has given us a sound mind. In most bad situations, we would be overcome with anxiety, fear, worry, doubt, but God enables us with the contrast and gives us a solid mind to focus on His truth and word.

Fear gets in the way of what God wants to do with us and for us. He wants us to cling to Him and to live in this world with His power, His love, and His sound mind. When we get rid of fear and follow Him, we recognize all the ways He is blessing us and working everything out for our good.
