Memory Monday – Week 50

Memory Monday – Week 50

This verse, Psalm 126:5, is just the opposite of what the world tells us. So many people think that if you go through a trial or face a hardship you are doomed forever, but that is not the case. No present situation or trial will ruin your life forever, unless by choice you let it. In order to reap, you must sow, right? It may take a farmer a long time to sow their farm land. They commit a lot of time, energy, and hard work to their lands. In the dry months and winter it might seem dead and full of tears, but they don’t give up. They keep working. Then the sun and rain come, and they joyfully celebrate a full harvest.

We can’t let our tears hold us back from the day to day things we are called to accomplish as well as the larger call on our life. There is work to be done whether you are crying or not. Instead of saying, ‘I can’t do this I’m going to sit in bed and cry’ say ‘I will sow the field despite of how I feel’. Joy will come because of your perseverance.

I have repeated this so many times, but just like the farmers, believers will face trials. But, we can persevere with hope. Our tears are not wasted. Our tears water the seed that brings the joy. What are you sowing today? Are you experiencing a lot of grief or have you been waiting on something forever, yet you haven’t seen the harvest? Don’t give up. Even though you feel tears now, there will be a joyful outcome soon. We might sow sorrow, but we will reap rejoicing.
