Lord, I am mad at you. I don’t understand. Why does life have to be difficult? Why do the trials continue? Why haven’t we received the answer to our prayers? Why are we still waiting?
Everything is in place for us. We are ready. We have a house with room for babies. We don’t have any debt. We both have jobs. We are both healthy. Our faith is in you. We believe. So, what are you waiting for? What is taking so long?
Lord, I am so mad at you.
I am so mad, until I realize how blessed I truly am. Until I realize how good you are. Until I realize that your timing is better than ours. Until I realize that your ways are higher than ours. Until I realize that you are faithful and you fufill every promise ever spoken. Until I realize that you never delay. Until I realize the only person I can be mad at is satan. Until I realize that God, you are so so so so good.
It’s so easy for me to grow bitter, to grow angry, to grow frustrated, and to become mad. But, the only reason the anger happens is because I start viewing God through my circumstances. When I snap out of it and start viewing my circumstances through God then life doesn’t seem that bad after all. Actually, I realize life really is so so so great.
Are you mad at God? If so, I hope you realize He is on your side. I hope you realize how blessed you are, how loved you are, and I hope you know that while it’s absolutely okay to be mad at God (because He knows your thoughts anyway), staying mad isn’t going to get you anywhere. The choice is yours. You can choose to be a bitter, angry person or you can choose to make the most of your circumstances.
Wherever you are today, I hope you allow yourself to process your feelings. I hope you know it’s okay to grieve and it’s okay to be mad. But, I hope that you make an effort to move forward and seek life, freedom, peace, joy, and all the blessings that the Lord has for you when you follow and trust Him. Instead of letting anger dwell inside you, seek the Lord and trust that He has good plans for you. I can tell you from personal experience, walking in joy and peace with God is a lot better place to be than being angry or mad at Him.
