Living in the Miraculous is something I didn’t pay attention to nor really knew nothing about for many years. I always believed in miracles, but didn’t think much about them. Ever since joining our new church that has changed tremendously. Miracles have become commonplace. Shouldn’t they be though? God performed them all through the bible and we know He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so why don’t more people believe and pray for miracles? Shouldn’t miracles be part of our every day, normal life?
Colby and I are still waiting very confidently and expectantly for our miracle. We know it’s coming, we just don’t know when. We are the perfect candidates for a miracle because miracles can’t happen unless there is a problem. We have a big problem and that sets us up for a big miracle.
This sermon outlines how to live in the miraculous. These aren’t formulas – it’s not if you follow these 3 things, you will see more miracles, but instead they are general guidelines.
1. Open up to God’s Power – Don’t close yourself off to God. Open up to Him and His ways. Study His word and walk in a community with other believers who understand his divine power. He is a miraculous God – don’t miss out on it. Stop believing lies from the enemy – they will keep you from experiencing God’s power. Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. Ephesians 4:18
2. Do Whatever He Tells You – Sometimes the Lord is going to call you to do something you don’t understand. But, our job is obedience, not performance. We will never experience His power until we become comfortable with His ways. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. Isaiah 55:8
3. Have faith in God – The more time you spend with someone the more confidence you have in them. Spending time with God is the same way, it will lead to more confidence in Him. Think of faith as confidence in Him. Faith isn’t focused on results, but on God. Even when He doesn’t do what we ask, He is still faithful. He is trustworthy despite how our prayers are answered. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
I’m sharing this today, because I don’t want others to miss out on what I did. Do we see a miracle every time we believe and ask for one? No. I found that out with Kai. Does that mean that we stop believing in God or the fact that He does miracles? That answer is also no. Even though you won’t always get what you ask for, open your heart and allow yourself to experience the miraculous.
