Hebrews 4:12 – Word of God #115

If you want to know why I have spent the last few years sharing verses on Mondays, Hebrews 4:12 might help explain. It says, “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

I share so many scriptures on the blog because just as this verse tells us, His Word is alive and active. The Bible is not just a collection of stories, but the Bible is the Word of God. It’s God’s truth and that is why it is so important that you know what it says. His Word brings power and life to each one of us when we spend time reading it.

The way to grow in your walk with the Lord is to spend time in His Word. Just as you would invest your time with a friend to grow your relationship, you must spend time in God’s Word to get to know Him more. The focus shouldn’t be on the knowledge of the Word, although that is important, but the focus as you read should instead be on your heart and relationship with Him! His Word is sharper than any sword and will minister to you in all areas of your life. It will reveal what is in your heart and give you wisdom in every situation you are in.

God’s Word is life-changing. Not only does it discern what is within you, but His word reveals His will for you as well. He has given you all of Himself through His Word so make sure to spend time with Him by reading His word!
