Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day

Today, I want to recognize Colby. Oh how I wish this post was sharing about what an amazing dad he is to our kiddos. Although I can’t put those words to paper yet, I can recognize the amazing father that he will be and the amazing husband he is now.

I’m standing in faith and trusting that next year this post will be different – I will be sharing what an incredible dad (and husband) he is! I can’t wait to see Colby in that role. It’s rare that we are around kids for extended periods of time, but I do get to see glimpses of it with our nieces and nephews. It makes my heart so happy to see his passion and love for babies and kids. He loves them, spoils them, serves them, and plays so well with them. It’s exciting to think of how amazing he will be as a dad.

I think men get overlooked when it comes to infertility. Often times, it’s the girls who get attention. But, many men, including Colby, want children just as much as I (or other ladies) do. It’s not just my desire, it’s our desire. It’s not just my trial, it’s our trial. It’s not just me waiting, it’s us waiting. Colby is wanting to become a dad, just as much as I am wanting to become a mom.

So as much as I’m looking forward to celebrating my dad, my brothers, and all the other dads I know, I also want to recognize all those men who are desiring to be dads, but aren’t yet. You are not forgotten! You are loved and appreciated!

fathers-day
