I didn’t have any intentions to doing a post about this, but I have gotten several questions over the past few days and decided I wanted to spread the word! Last Friday morning, while thinking about how I could celebrate Kai the first thing that came to mind was to chop off and donate my hair. It was an impulse decision and my regular hairdresser was booked so I called another salon and they had an opening just a few hours later.
This is my second time donating my hair and I want to continuing doing so. I feel like it is a way to pay it forward those who have lost their hair and need it way more than me. While I did Locks of Love the first round, I highly recommend researching their company first because there isn’t much good to be said, including that they discard 80% of hair donations received. For that reason this time I changed it up and decided to do Pantene Beautiful Lengths.
For those who are interested in donating, I have done the research for you and provided all the information for the different organizations who accept hair donations! I am sure there is a lot more, but these are the ones that I found. Please consider doing this, especially if you are someone who is going to get a 6 or 7 inch cut… it’s worth waiting and letting it grow a few more inches to help someone out! And yes, there are organizations who accept dyed hair. I hope this helps one person realize that there is someone out there who needs your hair more than you do! It’s as easy as getting a haircut, putting it an envelope, and mailing it off! Bless someone today and I promise you wont regret it!
