New life is all around. There are constantly baby announcements, baby showers, babies being born, and babies and kids everywhere. I can’t leave the house without seeing babies/children and while 99.9% of the babies born in this world are completely strangers to me, I am also constantly surrounded by the baby world within my group of close friends and family members. Whether it’s a stranger or a close friend, it’s inevitable that babies are everywhere. Everywhere!
Several years ago, we had these baby blue eggs in our backyard. They felt like our little kids and it really brought us so much hope. It was such a gift from the Lord – that He would choose our backyard for these babies to be born. We got to watch the nest be created, then filled with blue eggs, then filled with birds!
Our backyard has been quiet since then, until a few weeks ago when Colby found a nest full of baby rabbits. Again, we chose to praise the Lord for life in our yard! They were so little at the beginning! We would go outside every day and check on them! Until eventually they got big enough and left.
It’s no accident that life is all around. God is the creator of life. He came up with it. He designed it. He desires it. So, I’m going to choose to celebrate it. Whether it’s rabbits, birds, or another friend, co-worker, or family member, life is LIFE! Each and every one is special and each and every one is a blessing from Him.
Do I wish it was my turn? Absolutely! Do I have to give myself a pep talk when it gets hard? Yes, often, which is why I always focus on God’s word instead of my circumstances. His word reminds me that all new life is a gift from Him. I want to celebrate those blessings and gifts around me the same way I hope to be celebrated when it is our turn.
The choice is up to you – would you recognize baby birds and rabbits in your backyard as a blessing, or would you just decide it’s an accident? What about those pregnancy announcements and baby showers? Will you choose to celebrate, or will you choose to become bitter and angry? Remember, the choice is yours, but the Lord desires you to celebrate. He desires you to love others the same way He loves you. Make the decision with me and choose to celebrate life today!
