Believing in Faith

Believing in Faith

As we started planning for the Moms in the Making conference that was held back in October there were a few things that were very important to us. One of the things that was at the top of our priority list was making sure that each woman who attended the conference left with a gift. It was our way of coming along side them to let they know we were believing in faith for their miracles to come.

So you might be wondering what we gave? We gave each woman a swaddle and a pacifier that says “worth the wait.” If you are wondering “you gave a baby gift to women who are not yet pregnant?” the answer is yes! Absolutely yes! Without a hesitation, yes! Why? Because that is what faith is!

Faith is defined in Hebrews 11:1 as the “assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”  Hebrews 11:6 tells us that“without faith it is impossible to please God.”

Faith is making decisions based on what God says prior to what He does.  Faith doesn’t mean you understand. Faith doesn’t mean you know what the future holds. Faith doesn’t mean you have all the answers (or any answers at all). But when you live by faith, you make a decision to rely on God’s Word and his character, instead of what your natural circumstances are dictating.

You can’t play it safe and please God at the same time. Faith takes you stepping out of your comfort zone. Abraham had to do the same which we read in Hebrews 11:8, “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.”  You too might feel like Abraham and don’t know where you are going, but as you take a step of faith your relationship with the Father will grow as you trust him in the waiting.

What are you believing in faith for? If you are believing in faith for a baby, what are doing in action to prepare for being a parent? Are you getting a nursery ready? Paying off debt and saving for the new baby purchases you will have? Discussing names with your spouse? Eating right and taking care of your body? Believing in faith is taking the actions before the promise comes. The list could go on and on and doesn’t just apply to a baby. Perhaps it’s a spouse, a house, a new job, financial breakthrough, healing, a restored relationship, etc. Whatever it is that you are believing for, preparing yourself for the fulfillment of God’s promises, however unlikely they may seem, demonstrates your faith. Join me in believing in faith that God is who he says he is and he will do what he says he will do.

“Faith is acting like it is so, even when it is not so, in order that it might be so, simply because God said so.” Tony Evans
