If you’ve been on the infertility journey for any amount of time, you’ve likely heard a lot of negative words spoken over you. Diagnoses, statistics, timelines, and opinions. No matter who spoke it, external verses or your own voice, it’s important to know those words carry power. Proverbs 18:21 says that “The tongue has the power of life and death.”

That means your words and others’ words over you matter.

Your words are not passive. Scripture tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue, which means every word you speak is producing something. You are either reinforcing death or releasing life. This is why it matters so much what you say about your body.

Instead of constantly talking negatively about your body, I want to encourage you to begin speaking to it. Call things into alignment. Speak life where things feel dormant. Declare truth over areas that feel out of order. This is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about choosing which voice gets the final say. God’s Word carries life, and when you come into agreement with it, you come into agreement with that life.
