10 Reasons to Worship While Waiting
Choosing to praise my way through 13 years of believing God for babies has been one of the greatest gifts God has given me.
If you’re in a difficult season, I can’t encourage you enough to worship Him.
1. Worship Shifts Your Focus
When you worship, your focus shifts off your circumstances and struggles onto the One who reigns over them. ”I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2
2. Worship Shuts Out Negativity
When you praise God, your words align with truth and life, shutting out negativity and words of death. Worship shifts your mindset from despair to hope, silencing the lies of the enemy. ”The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21
3. Worship Brings Breakthrough
Just like Paul and Silas in prison, your worship has the power to break chains, bringing breakthrough and freedom. ”About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God… Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken.” Acts 16:25-26
4. Worship Strengthens Your Spirit
When the wait feels long and exhausting, worship renews your strength and fills you with hope. ”But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.” Isaiah 40:31
5. Worship Pleases God
Choosing to worship while waiting, especially when it’s difficult, is a sacrifice that pleases God. It demonstrates your trust and love for Him. ”Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.” Hebrews 13:15
6. Worship Silences the Enemy
The enemy thrives on victim mindsets, negativity, doubt, and fear, but worship leaves no room for his tactics or lies. ”I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.” Psalm 18:3
7. Worship is a Weapon
Worship isn’t just a song—it’s a weapon God has given you to shift atmospheres, defeat the enemy, and release Heaven over your situation. ”Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24
8. Worship Welcomes God’s Presence
God inhabits the praises of His people, and worship and thanksgiving are how we enter into His presence. ”Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” Psalm 100:4
9. Worship Declares God’s Goodness
God is worthy of all of our worship, at all times, in every season. Our worship shouldn’t be dependent on our circumstances; it should depend on His unchanging goodness. ”Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.” Psalm 145:3
10. Worship Changes You
Your worship doesn’t change God—it changes you! It transforms your heart, your mindset, and your posture in the waiting. ”Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
