Thankful – 2015

Last year my annual thankful post had a question mark behind it. Thankful? It seems so hard to be thankful when life is so hard, right? That was definitely the case last year and it continues to be, but as I mentioned on Monday, despite the trials we are facing, I always like to look at the blessings in my life. So, I have put together a list of what I am thankful for this year! I realize this is a pretty vague list, but the truth is I have to focus on the every day things like a job, house, etc!

  • My wonderful husband, Colby
  • Our trips all over the world
  • All the wonderful people I have met through this blog and social media
  • My local and online Moms in the Making group
  • The strength and grace from Jesus to get me through each day
  • My family members
  • 9+ years at my job
  • Our community and our church
  • The ability to exercise and stay active
  • God’s Word
  • Everyone who is praying and believing with us for babies
  • My community group and girls group
  • All my wonderful and supportive friends

My list could go on and on. What are you thankful for? Join me in choosing to celebrate life rather than focusing on the trials. Happy Thanksgiving!

Love this idea for a blog post. I’ll do the same. There is so much to be thankful for, and its nice to sit back and realize all the blessings that we DO have instead of the ones we don’t.

So many things to be thankful for – even in struggling times.
I’m getting my Thankful Thursday post ready right now for tomorrow 🙂 Thanksgiving is even a better time to reflect.

Love this! I was hoping to do a post like this but it looks like I won’t have time 🙁 I am thankful for the Lord’s direction, especially in times that I totally don’t understand it, but He loves me and is in control!

It’s so good to write things down when we consider what we are thankful for. I started Ann Voskamp’s joy dare this year and found it so helpful:)

    Caroline,
I have found myself falling in love with reading your blog posts. They are uplifting, inspiring, and give me a sense of purpose in times when I feel in the natural there is none. I work tirelessly to do whatever I can, by any means neccessary to fulfill the call of God on my life, and sometimes it gets overwhelming. It’s times like these when He uses people that I don’t know, and leads me to them for a purpose…His. So in saying that, I just want to say “Thank you.” I emailed you earlier in the week with a prayer request of an upcoming surgery and you responded by emailing me a prayer. God is Faithful! They repaired what they needed to, and found something else that I didn’t know of, early enough to do something about it. That is the report of the Doctors, but I believe and stand firm in the Report of the Lord, and He says By His Stripes, I Am HEALED!

I pray God’s Richest blessings over you and your precious family.

    Jason

I said this on IG but I wanted to share here as well how thankful I am for you Caroline. God brings special people into our lives at the right moment and I believe He sent you to me. I am thankful for this community and thankful to be surrounded by women on the same or similar journeys. This year is the first year I am joyful at the holidays. And I know it’s God’s grace and presence that is driving that joy.

You have such an incredibly positive outlook on life. And I love that about coming here. I’ll be honest–sometimes I have a hard time looking beyond the here, the now, to the things that upset me in the moment. But around me there is SO MUCH GOOD to be grateful for. And in this time of Thanksgiving and reflection, you are inspiring me to think a bit differently 🙂

Wishing you and your family all the best this holiday season.

Great list, Caroline! You can count me among those that believe that babies are in the (hopefully near) future for you! I am thankful for many things this year, but the friendships I have made through the blogs are near the top of the list. Xo.

Such a wonderful list! It’s so good to rehearse those things that God has blessed us with. I’m grateful for heat in the minivan this morning, extra cash for Christmas, and great deals when I’m trying to spend it wisely.

Great list. Today I’m thankful for Christmas music to cheer up the quiet house, 7 months without a seizure, a very sweet husband who sends me encouraging texts, that my MIL is feeling well enough to insist upon making supper for us, for hard times that almost always drive me deeper into God’s Word and thus cause spiritual growth, and for my cousins and their friendship.

It’s not always easy to be thankful but as you’ve said – there is always something. I’m thankful for my health, my husband, the jobs I’ve been able to create for myself, the love I have from friends. Happy Thanksgiving my friend!!

All these are great things to be thankful for.
I think sometimes we get so caught up in life that we forget to be thankful for the small things and it’s nice that around this time of year everyone’s taking a step back from the hustle and bustle and celebrating their thankfulness.

Love that you shared your thankful list! I spent my time with God this Thanksgiving morning thanking Him for all He has given. I need to remember to do this more than just during the “thankful season.”

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving today!
