Wait Confidently – Micah 7:7 #114
As Advent began yesterday, I started reading this devotional by Louie Giglio. The first verse when I opened the book was Micah 7:7 which says, “As for me, I look to the LORD for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.”
The context of this chapter is not super uplifting. Actually it is full of gloom. In Micah 7, the people and the society in Israel were corrupt, but God was still present and promised to lead the people out of all the darkness they were facing and into His light. Despite the corruption that was going on, Micah turned to the Lord and was full of faith. In verse 7 he proclaimed that he would wait upon the Lord. Micah knew that God would not only hear his request, but that He would save him too.
This promise isn’t just for Micah, but it is for you as well. God will bring you through your trial. Micah understood that God was hearing his prayers and at the right time the Lord would save him just as He will for you. Your season might feel corrupt right now, but God is with you. He sees and knows your pain.
Trust that God will give you His strength while waiting. Look to Him for help and wait confidently and expectantly that not only does He hear your prayers and your cries, but that He will answer them too. At just the perfect time, He will deliver you from any pain you might be facing.
