Proverbs 23:7 Think Kingdom Thoughts #217

What do you spend your time thinking about? What are most of your thoughts about? Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks within himself, so he is.” We had a guest pastor yesterday and I love that he pointed out that whatever your heart goes after the most is usually what your “god” is.

The thoughts that you have are not only reflect who you are or reflect who your “god” is, but they turn into what or who you will become. When you think about Kingdom-minded things, it will lead to a life of becoming more like Jesus. But if you think about the things of this world, you can assume you as a person will look more like this world. Just as there is power in the tongue and life manifests from your positive words, your thoughts are the same way.

Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Are you thinking about what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable?

What situation are you facing today and in that what do you choose to think about? Do you choose hope and joy or do you choose negative thoughts filled with defeat? You can’t think negative thoughts and expect breakthrough or victory. You can’t think about how barren you are or how you will never be healed, never have kids, never get a good doctor’s report and expect that the opposite of any of those thoughts would actually happen, can you? For me personally, I choose to believe, hope, and pray that we will be joyful parents of many children. I believe we are healed, fruitful, fertile, and that our breakthrough is coming soon! Join me in seeking Kingdom-minded thoughts while you are waiting!

    So good! I love when you said.. “You can’t think negative thoughts and expect breakthrough or victory. ” I need to hang that on my wall! SO powerful!!

    I am always thinking about dreams and aspirations I have, but then I think about how to start and I get overwhelmed. I get so excited about things and have all these ideas. So, one thing that helps me is to be organized and write out my ideas and then pray over them so that God knows my heart and where my dreams and goals are aimed at. Also, He will be able to tell me if that’s a dream/goal I should be pursuing. I have some fun ones so I really hope so!
