Memory Monday – Week 27

One of my favorite verses since around the time I met Colby is Ephesians 3:20. It was read at our wedding and is how I feel now and felt back then about our relationship. After some bad break ups and some long term relationships that didn’t end as I planned, the Lord brought me someone so much better. He did immeasurably more than I could have asked or imagined. As women, we all had or have that ideal guy in mind, but wow – did the Lord blow me away. The beautiful thing about it is, this verse didn’t apply just when we were dating, but it still holds true; the amount of love that Colby pours out to me every day is just so rich and so abundant all praise goes to the Lord.

The only way something far above us can ever become our reality is through the Lord. Note this verse says, “Him who is able”. This verse most definitely is not referring to us, but is referring to our Lord. We can ask God for big things. He wants us to ask Him for big things, because when we do, it shows that we have faith that He can do the impossible.  We can trust that when we ask Him according to His will, He will do abundantly more than what we have asked of Him. I feel like the abundance in this verse is too difficult to put into words. I just love that instead of just giving us what we ask, He loves us so much, that He exceeds our request.

Nothing is impossible with our God. He takes the impossible and blesses it with more than our human minds could ask or imagine. This is what He has already done on our journey and we know He will continue to do in the future. He isn’t just going to answer our prayers like we want Him to, He is going to answer them immeasurably more than we have asked of Him or then we could even imagine. Praise Him.

He is a God of MORE. He is a God of PLENTY. He is a God of LAVISH. He is a God of RICHES. He is God of PROSPERITY. He is a God of ABUNDANCE. He is a God of EXTRAVAGANCE.

Here here sister! Glad you were blessed by Colby being placed into your life. So many times we don’t realize what was best for us until years later and we can look back and realize how things were supposed to unfold.

Yes, yes, yes! I love this verse and, approaching our 5 year anniversary, I see it it fulfilled everywhere I look. From a broken marriage to the relationship I have with R. From a wounded spirit to renewed faith in Him. From a hurting toddler to a girl who calls NC her home. From opposite sides of family building to unity. From job loss to working from home. From a 20% chance of conception to a thriving pregnancy. From insufficient finances to His provision. God has done so much more in the past five years than I could ever have imagined. He is so good!

Oh I love this verse too! It has so much hope in it! But the one thing I have learned in studying this verse is that He can do immeasurably more than we can ask, think or imagine (which is amazing in itself) but it is according to the power that is at work within us (the later part of that verse). I used to think that if I just asked for it then my part was done…but He has to work through us…we have to study His Word to learn our inheritance, we have to speak His Word with our authority over the devil and we have to obey Him when He tells us to do something (like pray for someone random in an airport). If we don’t tap into His power source then we might miss out on all that He has for us. I’m so glad you used this verse this week because I needed the reminder that God will give me more than what I am currently hoping for and imagining. This is exciting! And it’s a good reminder to me that He can only do this through the power of the Holy Spirit that is within me. Thanks girlie! You always have the perfect verse for the perfect week! xoxoxxoxo
