Memory Monday – Week 102

I am back to sharing from Romans 8. I really can’t get enough. After I wrote my post about not belonging last week, the Lord gave me this verse from Romans 8:15, “And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of Full Acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father, Abba!”

As a believer, you are adopted into God’s family. You can live in complete freedom when you are in a relationship with Him – a relationship not based on fear and bondage, but based on love. You don’t have to live bound to your past or to sin, because you are a new creation in Christ.

When Paul addressed adoption or sonship in this verse, he is referring to being in a new relationship with God. Just as when a child gets adopted into the family, they receive a new last name, new privileges, new benefits, new joy, and a new home, your spiritual adoption is the same – when you become a believer in Jesus Christ, you also receive His full inheritance.

You are His child. You get to team up with Him and expect the best. Why? Because He wants that for you. When you are in His kingdom, you never have to feel like an orphan. To Him, you will always belong. You are fully accepted. You are fully loved. He is your father. You get to cry out to Him as your Abba father. Nothing has the power to diminish His love towards you. You are in His family forever – commit to living and acting on this truth!

I just talked about that with the kids this weekend – from 1 John where we are called “Children of God”… I told them that’s why I tell everyone I’m a princess. I was born with royalty in me 🙂

There is so much here! I love the reminders that God loves me as His daughter. There is so much in that relationship that today’s world has warped so much that many don’t get what a privilege this is.

Our Father is so gracious and pours his blessing out on us. Thank you for reminding me that I am worthy of that blessing just because He loves me that much.

There is nothing that I can do that will cause God to love me more. There is nothing that I can do that will cause God to love me less. I’m redeemed by the blood of Jesus, adopted by the King of Kings, loved by the God who created the universe. What a beautiful reminder and truth!

Yes, I feel like I am a member of God’s family. I tell myself all of the time that I am a child of the most high God. I am grateful that he accepted someone like me into his family.

as always, you have the perfect thing to say from the Bible. You always give the best reminders of things we forget and get discouraged about, or take for granted. hope your week is going well!

I definitely feel a part of God’s family. He is my Father and my identity is in Him, so I never feel like I’m out here by myself. He gave great people (my parents lol) stewardship over me when I was younger which has led me to where I am today. Romans 8 is one of my favorite chapters too 🙂
