Job 5 - Miracles that cannot be counted

Job 5:9 Wonders and Miracles #198

Do you realize that God is all-knowing and all-powerful? And if you know that, do you believe it? And if you believe it, do your actions, thoughts and words reflect it?

Job isn’t a chapter in the bible that most want to read, but I have found so many nuggets of truth that have encouraged my heart when I have opened it up. I shared one of those in a post called, “Pray Your Friends Receive the Breakthrough You Desire.” The verse I want to share today is Job 5:9 which says, “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.”

At this point in the chapter Job’s friends hadn’t treated him the best and Job himself was struggling because he was not seeking God. Can anyone relate to being in Job’s shoes? Eliphaz decides to counsel Job on the exact reason he should seek God and he did just that in verse 9, which I shared above. This verse wasn’t just for Job, but for you and I too.

We have a great God. A God whose ways are much higher than ours. A God whose thoughts are much higher than ours. A God who does wonders that we can’t fathom. The things that God has done, is doing and will do are way beyond what we will ever be able to understand. And the miracles that he has performed? They too are so numerous that they can’t not even be counted.

What miracle are you waiting for? Remove any barriers that are preventing you from running fully to Father and seeking him. He has a life-time of wonders and miracles ahead for you, but he can’t help you out if you are too stubborn or prideful. Don’t restrict your miracle-working God from doing amazing things in your life. Just as he did all throughout the bible, he wants to restore, redeem, heal and love you beyond what you could ask or imagine, so let him.

I don’t know why, but I’ve always loved Job. Not for all his struggles. That’s hard. Not for his friend’s and family’s awful advice. How frustrating! But for the chapters where God answers him with that glorious, “Where were you…” speech. I have found it one of the best reminders for me of God’s headship. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
