Genesis 28:15 – His Promises #104

The story of Jacob running from Esau is revealed throughout Genesis 28. In Genesis 28:15, the Lord speaks the following words to Jacob, “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

The Lord met Jacob one-on-one and reminded Jacob that He was the God of both of his fathers, Abraham and Isaac. God then told Jacob he would inherit the land — which is the same promise He had already made to Abraham and Isaac. As Abraham’s descendants, this promise applies to us as well.

Scripture is full of all the promises God has made to you. He has promised you in this verse not only that you will inherit the land, but that He will never leave you. No matter what happens or where you are – He will watch over you. Whether your wait is a few minutes or your wait is several years long, He is with you every step of the way. He will bring you the patience to endure the wait and the strength for you to persevere through.

Whatever He has promised you, He will do. He will carry you through until He completes His work. He never changes His mind or revokes a promise. Trust Him while you wait and believe that He always keeps His word. Declare that He is faithful and He has good things in store for you.

He is a wonderful giver, our God. He has given us amazing promises, if only we could hold on to them better instead of getting distracted so often.

Not sure how I would get by without the promise of God’s love and forgiveness.

We sure do serve an amazing God. I believe in all the wonderful promises found in his word. Thank you for the reminder that we have inherited all of this truth. Our God is the same God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob.

Oh, my word, Caroline! I could not believe that when I opened your email just now and read this post that it was about Abraham!!!! This is exactly along the lines of what my family and I have been studying! It am so amazed when God does that. He will keep confirming the point He is trying to make to me until I realize the pattern and really start to “get it”. YES, we are heirs of the promises God gave to Abraham!!!!! And in those promises, there is a baby for you, sweet friend. I just know it. It is so hard to wait on God and His perfect timing, but just knowing that He IS going to do this gives hope. You are such a dear blessing to me. Thank you for the sweet comment you left on that other blog…I am not on Facebook, so it is not allowing me to respond. I apologize. But, I surely appreciated it, and it brightened my day, as you so often do! Love and prayers coming your way!!! 🙂

I love how God is always so faithful ….. even when things don’t work out the way we think they should, God is in the background doing His good deeds!! Isn’t it great that we can trust and have faith in such a wonderful God!!

Amen. When I doubts are filling my mind, i recite some of His promises over and over to get rid of the negative thoughts. They have carried me through many trials.

I love that God is faithful and true to His word. That’s such a hard attribute to find in people these days so knowing that He will always pull through is humbling and really puts my heart at ease 🙂
