Smooth Sailing with Mizuno’s Wave Sky Shoe

I work out every day. Which means unless I am swimming laps, I am wearing my running shoes every day as well. Well, I am embarrassed to say how long I have been wearing my most recent pair, but it’s been years. Years and years. And years. I know, I know, it’s so bad. So bad that it’s caused a lot of foot pain, but I just didn’t have time to search for new shoes. However, a few weeks ago, my feet were hurting so bad I was left with no choice but to get a new pair and I chose the Mizuno Wave Sky, which are brand new to the market.
Thankfully after switching from my old shoes to these shoes my foot pain went away immediately. I can’t even tell you how good it feels to run in a new shoe that actually has a sole. I have always worn Adidas, but I wanted to switch it up this time around and had remembered that Mizuno shoes were recommended to me many years ago at a shoe fitting. Because I have such a high arch and wide feet it’s important that I can find a neutral, wide shoe, which thankfully the Mizuno Wave Sky offers.
So far, I am a few weeks in and am loving my new shoes. They are so lightweight and I’m not sure if I love them so much because anything was better than what I was wearing before or if they truly just fit that great. The shoe offers a softer cushioning which is just what my type of foot needs. I do know that everything about them has been comfortable and I have tried them on the treadmill, pavement and grass. I have ran with them, walked with them, lifted weights with them and my feet have had no pain.
I can’t wait to continue to wear these shoes and try them in my triathlon this weekend. Maybe they will help me not miss being in the top 3 of my age group by 8 seconds this time. Wishful thinking, I know! Either way, at least my feet will feel great during my run and I must say, I am pretty excited about that!
